These self sustaining systems are often driven by solar energy and can operate independent of local power supply. The quality of the drinking water meets the international standards for drinking water. 


Gerindtec offers desalination systems for inland, islands, and coastal use. The modular systems start with 1000 LPD and go up to 500,000 LPD.

Solar thermal desalination – front and forward technology in generation of drinking water, based on brackish water and salt water, is often combined with solar technologies. The desalination systems can also be integrated to utilize waste heat from electrical generators, exhaust of biomass gassifiers or industrial processes and produce safe drinking water to WHO standards from sea water, brackish water, or contaminated ground water.

Compared to the energy requirement of conventional solar stills-which is around 550Kwh Solar per 1000 liters and maximum water production of 4-5 liters per square meter area of panel - GERINDTEC MEH & MED de-salination systems offer a phenomenally lower energy requirement of only 120 Kwh Solar per 1000 liters and maximum water production of 25 liters/square meter area of solar panel (made out of Tinox Highly Selective Coatings).

These technologies hold the promise of finding a lasting solution for providing safe drinking water in rural inland and coastal areas.

Leading system integrators from Germany established a strategic tie-up with Gerindtec to launch the state of the art solar thermal sea & brackish water desalination using Multi-Effect-Humidification MEH and/or Multi Effect Distillation MED.
